Yuri Brusovani

I, Yuri Efimovich Brusovani, was born in 1949. Studied, worked as a painter and fireman. Made 300 paintings in tempera and acrylic. Wrote poems and told jokes. No awards, no jail time. When I couldn't afford paints, I painted in charcoal. I invented the "transrealism" style. I like everything verbose and transparent...

Education: 

1962-1968 - Secondary School of Art at the Ilya Repin Academy of Arts in St Petersburg 

1971-1975 - St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry named after A.L. Stieglitz, faculty of decorative and monumental painting  

Stylistic trends: 

Transrealism - developed by the artist's conception of representation on the plane of multidimensional space in which the trinity of time, place and action is not absolute 

Artistic associations: 

1981-1990 - Member of the Society for Experimental Visual Art (TEIA) 

Member of the "Island" group.  

Exhibitions: 

1982 - 1st common exhibition of The TEIJ, Cultural Centre of S.M. Kirov, Leningrad   

1983 - Winner of the Second Biennial of Humorous Drawing, Yerevan, Armenia. 

1984 - the 4th "Festival" exhibition of TEI (painting, drawing, sculpture, decorative and applied art), Youth Palace, Leningrad 

1987 - 9th Overall Exhibition of the TEIA, Lenexpo, Leningrad 

1988 - "Island of Modern Realism", Exhibition of "Island" group, A.D. Tsyrupa Culture Centre, Leningrad 

Since 1988 participated in exhibitions of contemporary art in Göttingen (Germany), Berlin (Germany), Stockholm (Sweden).
