The artist has depicted a fairytale city where everything is covered in ice. Huge icicles hang from the tower on the left, in the foreground. The big fish at the foot of the tower is also frozen, and the fountain that releases water from its head is frozen. On the right, an entire block of ice had formed, bluish and transparent, rising to the sky. The sea surface around it froze and became like a mirror. The inhabitants of this city also seem to have frozen into spring. The work is made using different shades of grey and blue with the addition of sandy beige, terracotta, cream and light pink.
