A downpour on the sea

The painting depicts the sea during a storm. The small sailboat in the foreground is struggling to cope with the strong waves. The other two sailboats, a little further to the left and right, are close to capsizing. The downpour brings down torrents, the wind flutters the sails, the waves surge menacingly. But the sun's rays are already peeking far out on the horizon and there is hope that the elements will soon calm down. The artist did not use too many colours: shades of beige and brown, various shades of grey, greenish, yellow, cream and pink
