Autumn in Troitski-Lykovo

The painting shows the quiet life in the countryside. Early in the morning, a shepherd on horseback drives a herd to pasture. An elderly woman drives her cow towards the herd. The cow is reluctant, and the mistress swings her whip at her. The geese have already flocked. The rooster, perched on the fence, is singing his morning song. The barely awake sun's rays are dyeing everything pink. The picture is very colourful and vivid. The main colours are purple, terracotta and deep pink. There are also many shades of green, from the lightest lettuce-yellow to the deepest blue-green. For the skyline and shadows, the artist used deep blue tones.
