Bird Island

The artist has depicted an outlandish island populated by all kinds of birds. In the centre is an unusual structure, resembling a castle with egg-shaped towers. One of the towers has a fantastic appearance, with one eye, beak and horns. Numerous feathered inhabitants go about their business. Some fly up with a large fish in their talons, some fly up with an egg resembling a jet engine, the dark and light birds in the foreground are busy arguing, the rest are strolling about. Behind one of the towers nestles an unusual creature in the shape of a cracked shell with large red paws, eyes and a sharp red beak clutching an egg. Near the shore, penguins rest in the water. A flock of birds circles around the castle and the tops of the highest towers are already occupied by the more agile inhabitants. The work is made using various shades of brown, blue, grey and blue with the addition of dark red, orange, green and yellow.
