The entire space of the canvas is occupied by a fairy-tale castle with elegant turrets, standing on a high mountain. Lush trees cover the hillside and a blue waterfall rushing down the hill. To the right, in the foreground, another tower is visible, at the very top of which stands a blond figure with a trident on his hat and a staff in his hand, resembling a sentinel. Dusk has fallen and the terracotta walls of the castle stand out against the deep blue background of the evening sky. The artist used various shades of brown, green, blue as well as sandy beige, terracotta and turquoise.
