Above the sea, Cape Calicara

On a sweltering summer day, it's hard to walk around the promontory. The sun is scorching, the grass is parched and the sea is too far away, at the foot, to dip in. In this picture the artist manages to show the beauty of nature even in such a hot season. And the stones are no longer white-hot. They start playing with different colours. Besides light beige shades, the artist uses light yellow, ochre and coffee tones. The shadows are marked with different shades of blue, grey-green and crimson-brown. Below, washed by water, the stones are black-brown, while those protruding from the water and drying in the sun are sand-coloured, almost white. And dry grass at the very edge of the cliff is not without colour: grey-blue, grey-green, grey-lilac, light yellow, terracotta. And of course the sea. Deep blue, very dark at the foot of the promontory, it becomes lighter at a distance and shimmers in different shades of blue and turquoise.
