The artist has depicted a gloomy hospital ward with dark green painted walls and a boardwalk. Along the walls there are many beds, on which, instead of people, there are fragments of plaster sculptures. A woman in a white coat and kerchief carries one of them on a gurney down a brightly lit corridor. The work is executed using a modest colour palette. Different shades of grey, brown and green were used, with the addition of red and light beige.
