Altai, White Bom

The viewer sees a picturesque Altai landscape, illuminated by the bright sun. On the right, the artist has depicted a cliff of white limestone called Bely Bom, with the blue waters of the Chuya River flowing at its foot. Along the opposite bank stretches a band of tall trees in golden-orange autumnal decoration, and beyond the trees stretches a vast field where horses graze. In the distance the high lilac and blue mountains almost covered the horizon, their tops shooting into the deep blue sky. The artist used various shades of brown, blue, grey, green and blue, as well as yellow, orange, purple and pink.
