Marfa of Kolomna
By Анастасия Сажинаthroughout the Russian Federation.
Size (height&width): 62,5*36 cm.
Year: 2015.
Style: Impressionism.
Techniques: Oil on Canvas.
Subject: Landscape.
The painting depicts one of the landmarks of Kolomenskoye, the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, built in the 17th century. The white-stone cathedral with its blue domes is not in the foreground, it is somewhat far away. A path of stone slabs leads to it, which winds through the park. The lawns are still covered in snow, but there are already some thaws, suggesting that spring may be on its way. And the sky already looks spring-like, light blue with pink, with light white clouds it seems transparent. The colour palette of the work is concise: different shades of grey, brown, blue as well as dark green, creamy pink and yellow.
