The unusual work is a triptych, with the spread showing an ancient rotunda on a snow-covered ground surrounded by trees in the foreground. Crows nestle on the bare branches, and in the distance, behind the trees, one can see tall modern houses. Dusk had fallen to the end of the winter day, and only the narrow strip of sky behind the houses was golden with the last glint of sunlight. In some places the windows of the houses are already lit up. Various shades of grey and brown have been used as the main colours for this work, with pale yellow and cream as complements.
