Izmailovo

The artist has captured a corner of a summer park in Izmailovo. The path, surrounded by bushes and trees, leads to the Church of the Intercession of the Virgin Mary, in front of which a bowl-shaped structure on a pedestal has been preserved, probably a former fountain. On a sunny day everything around looks bright and ornate. The work is drawn in large strokes; only the fountain and the graceful arch of the cathedral are depicted in detail. The colour palette is varied: various shades of green, blue, brown, purple, yellow, blue as well as brick red and lilac.
