Courtyard

The viewer sees the underside of city life - metal waste bins filled to the brim with rubbish lying around. They are placed against the dirty wall of the house, blocking the path to the archway leading to the street. In the distance you can see the embankment and a long yellow house that also has an arch and courtyard, perhaps just as cluttered, perhaps even more prosperous. Various shades of grey, brown and blue have been used, as well as sand, orange, red, light purple, milk and cream; large, chaotic strokes in the foreground further accentuate the disarray of the surroundings.
