The Farm

The viewer can see the countryside as it might have been several hundred years ago. On a hillside, close to a rock, is a good-looking stone house with an intricately shaped roof. From the doorway, a path leads down to a pond, on whose shore someone has left a spinning wheel. To the right, in the foreground, villagers are minding their own business. A little further away, leaning against a tree trunk, a gentleman, presumably the owner of the farm, is resting. In the distance, a white-stone palace resembling a castle is visible in the distance. The high cliffs behind the palace rise up into the sky. The work is made using various shades of brown, green, grey and blue, with the addition of sandy, terracotta, beige, cream and red.
